Aituq (from the Chieftan Collection)

$240.00

This peculiar relic was recovered from the frozen caverns beneath Mount Erebus sometime around 1907. The Inuit guides called it Aituq—the one who speaks when the wind dies. That night, the sled dogs refused to approach camp and the aurora above turned blood red.

The skull’s surface is smooth as polished ivory, but curiously warm to the touch. Tundra fox fur bound at the crown, likely ceremonial, though none could say for what. Some say it whispers very faintly, like breath across ice, when it senses a change coming. Note: this claim is unverified.

A Shaman’s Lantern is pendant-style lighting meets life-size glowing skull—the combo adds up to be the most unique lamp in any room.
